Skeeterpee sounds like a nice beverage for summer. Mix some strawberries in it. Whala.

Let us know how it turns out.

For national homebrew day I will be tackling a pale ale with a Belgium Yeast Wyeast 1214.
This is the first recipe I put together myself so it could be interesting. Lol

Happy Brewing today to everyone.

Racked my Flander's Red to secondary yesterday. It's been three weeks and there's just the slightest sourness starting to appear.

Only 18 months to go.

Dry stout on deck for this weekend and Berlinner Weiss the following.

Kent! I'm excited to hear more about your flander's red, and hopefully snag a sip in a year and a half. And that Skeeter Pee, like I said in the Facebook group, sounds like your timing on that is perfect for a summer day drink.

We've been brewing a lot fairly recently, with a couple weeks break because my brewing buddy's sweetie had to have major heart surgery. She's fine, but it was nerve racking for a bit there. As for what we have brewing, we just bottled an Oatmeal Stout, an American Pale Ale and a Quad. We have another version of our Imperial Stout that's 90% different than our normal version in primary along with an experimental Quad, two meads and a fruit wine. We plan on starting another mead real soon, as well as a spookie Cider that should be fun. I also want to make a Black IPA pretty soon, but who knows. It's safe to say we've used one or two grain cards at the nut a little quicker than we should have. I'm starting to think that I'd save money if I bought the house next door, bull dozed it and grew my own barley.

Nothing brewing here. Sad

Been really busy over the past few months and will continue to be really busy as I plan a move to Charleston, SC.

I am heading over to Salt City tonight to pick up some stuff for a raspberry wheat. Will plan on brewing that tomorrow morning or on Sunday.

Anyone getting stuff ready for the Beehive Brew off?

I've got an Imp IPA that's bottle conditioning now, a dry stout that'll go into keg this weekend, and I'm going to brew up a Berliner Weiss on Sunday. I'd like to get one more for the brew off but can't decide what.

Have fun on the raspberry wheat, it's a damn refreshing beer.

Kent, trades are in order. We might have to pull a trunk trade like we did last time at the brew-off. That's true with everyone, we need to have a big parking lot beer trade at the brew-off. I've recently been doing lower gravity beers, just to have something to drink in the summer. If any of those are worth a damn we'll enter them in the brew-off. There are also all the requisite higher gravity stuff that might get entered, but unlike last year I think we're only going to enter stuff that is decent. Last year I tossed in a few entries that were crap just to see what they thought was wrong with them.

Definitely up for trades with anyone. I'm a bit concerned about my IPA as it stayed on dry hops for a hair over two weeks and is a bit grassy. I'm hoping that fades, if not I'll need to do another batch. I'm going to bottle some of the stout as well for entry. I've been doing the same thing with brewing some lower gravity stuff. I need something that's session-able.

As far as entering crap: nothing beats the molten lava of that chocolate chili stout. I could hear people crying during judging. Laughing

Kent,

Regarding the Molten Lava stout, you should make another batch and sell it as a new type of hot sauce. Think about it, hot sauce made of beer to dip your beer battered and fried foods in! I'd buy a bottle.

Welcome jjames!

Nice selection in the pipeline.

Personally I've got a Red Imperial IPA clearing in a keg, and a Flanders red six months into secondary.

Thank you!

Now about that Flanders, I'm planning to run a batch of that in the near future. You have to let us know how it turns out. I'm a little envious actually. That is a whole style (a very tasty style that is) I have greatly admired but never ventured into.
