Hi, Im new to the brewing world and just got a brewing kit, but my love for beer has been with me for years. I am looking for a mentor that can teach me the ways of brewing. I have read and watched alot of youtube but I think the best way is by doing it and getting advice from people that have made the mistakes before me (so i dont make them). If anyone is willing to teach me the ways and give me advice along the way it would be greatly appreciated. If anyone knows of any good recipes, tips and resorces that they are willing to give out please do...Also what is a good beer to brew to pop my brewing cherry?

Thanks everyone,
Rookie from Pleasant Grove

The Beernut offers classes on home brewing. That would be a good place to start. Also check the Homebrew Club section on the blog's main page for the closest club to you.

Cheers!

Sorry for not replying sooner dragin...

Agree with everything Mikey has said. Also I've found http://basicbrewing.com to be very helpful. They have a really informative podcast and some beginner dvd's that are carried by the Beernut I believe.

All of Charlie Papazian's books are entertaining and the Joy of Homebrewing in particular is handy for beginners.
